Egypt lies on the northeastern part of Africa with a total area of about one million square kilometers. Egypt’s population of 83,082,869 (July 2009 est.) is the largest in the Middle East and the third largest in Africa. More than 63 percent of the population is in the 15-64 years age group, which makes it one of the largest human resources in the region. Almost 43 percent of the total population lives in urban areas and urbanization is growing at an annual rate of 1.8 percent, which means more manpower is available in the city discounting the need for searching in rural and remote areas.
